A) Net force acting on W1 = 0

TA - W1 = 0

TA = W1

= 60 N

B) As thetwo ropes are maing same angle with horizontal, the tensions in the ropes must be same.

LET TB = TC = T

Apply Net force acting W1 = 0

TB*sin(60) + TC*sin(60) - (W1+W2) = 0

T*sin(60) + T*sin(60) = (W1+W2)

T = (W1+W2)/(2*sin(60))

= (60 + 140)/(2*sin(60))

= 115.5 N
