A fairly efficient steam turbine engine fired by coal is used to drive an electric generator. The generator operates between 2100C and 385C.
A fairly efficient steam turbine engine fired by coal is used to drive an electric generator. The generator operates between 2100 C and 385 C (a) Determine the maximum possible efficiency of the engine. % (b) The engine absorbs 1.15 x 10^5 from the hot reservoir every second. If the actual efficiency of the engine is 37.3%, determine the mechanical power the engine delivers. kWExplanation / Answer
Actually it is Qdeliverd = Qinput x efficiency
efficiency = 37.3 percent i.e. 0.373
Qdeliverd per second = Qinput per second x efficiency
that becomes Pdeliverd = Pinput x efficiency because
Q per unit time = Power
Accurate anser was 42895 W
Hope dis time its clear..if still problem sustains plzz do let me know will sort out definately
thanks
