Incorporation of evidence basesd practice in patient care helps to improve the patient outcome. Evidence based practice aims to provide the most effective care that is available, with the aim of improving the patients outcome. Based on the systematic research. the best evidence that can be incorporated into patient care to improve patient outcome, quality of care. Use of best evidence in making the decisions about the care of individualized patients.
Examples from nursing practice:
Initial post- Awareness of the community about mental health and mental illness. The community should be educated about the mental health and mental illness by providing various awareness programs, campaigns and role plays about mental health and illness. And remove the misbelief that it is not a stigma, it is a disease due to neurochemical imbalance. This can be improved by early identification and prompt treatment.

Prevalence of anemia in pregnant women
New born babies are of underweight due to lack of good nutrition taken by mother. Mothers are unable to take balanced diet due to lack of nutritious diet, low standard living. Evidence based protocol shows that, incorporation of protein rich foods in the diet of pregnant women, encouraged to eat balanced nutritious diet.
There is a significant rise in anemia among pregnant women due to iron deficiency. The need will be increased as the growth increases. Due to lack of health care facilities in rural areas. Mothers are unable to reach health care services. Evidence based protocols shows that implementation of house visits to gather the information who are of pregnant women and provide the services to them and follow up with them regularly. And refer to primary care centres when needed.
