Covalent catalysis is a type of enzymatic catalysis which involves formation of a temporary covalent complex between substrate and a reactive molecule or group. This covalent complex helps in easy catalysis as it is more reactive than the substrate only.

This ultimately increases rate of reaction.

It does so by reducing energy required for the reaction.

Hence, covalent catalysis affects rate of reaction only, not the concentration of product.
