PROVIDE A RESPONSE OR STATEMENT TO THIS STUDENTS DISCUSSION:

Cost sharing definitely has an impact on a consumer’s spending and I feel it is very appropriate for patient’s to be financially responsible for a portion of the bill. It discourages wasteful spending when it affects their own pocketbook. Personally, I’ve seen a better rate of compliance when there is a “cost” to the patient versus programs that have no cost associated, in which they are more lackadaisical about following physician’s orders. As we know, the percentage of aging adults is increasing as the baby boomers become Medicare eligible (Caitlin, Poisal, & Cowan, 2015) and our social security system needs them to be responsible for covering their share of their medical expenses.

Explanation / Answer

Cost is a very important factor in patient care because of following reason

1. Poor people can't tolerate the medical expenses on cancer , diabetes and other chronic diseases

2. Hence in this case non compliance increases

3. Whenever any person in family suffered from the major disease family think it is wastage of money because end treatment is not available

4. Some family also think that hospital running there own business of money earning so they regret the treatment.

Hence whenever we run any no cost health programme for a patient , patient respond more because at the end health is a wealth and it is important to maintained it throughout the life.

Birth rate also increase after the second world war and as we know that birth rate increases is directly proportional to health care system because no. of patient also increase .

Family also take extra care of their expenses because no. of family member increase and it is necessary to look them.
