A 2007-2008 tour by Miley Cyrus was an enormous financial success. The tour grossed $55 million. Hard feelings were created, however, because many parents had to buy from scalpers or secondary vendors at prices higher than the gate price. Some states have legalized scalping in the name of economic efficiency, that is, those wiling to pay a higher price for the concert will do so.
