This study will be aimed at achieving a replacement of petroleum powered fuel system with a solar powered battery. The main objective of the plan is to reduce dependency on non-renewable sources such as petroleum and at the same time reduce environmental costs of using the same. The car design will focus on utilization of lightweight materials such as carbon fibre or other lightweight but durable alloys. This will reduce the weight of the car and the entire chassis of the car will be fitted with solar arrays.
Existing technology provides a possibility of travel of upto 80 kms with a single 5 hour charge.
