GEORGE WASHINGTON was the first president of the United States born on February 22, 1732 in Virginia. He was also better known as Father of his Country (USA). He was the commander in chief of the American army during Revolutionary war(1775-1783). He served two terms as president during the period 1789 to 1797. George Washington became a SUPERSTAR during American Revolution when he led the colonial forces to victory over British. During George Washington presidency John Adams took the role of vice President.

JOHN ADAMS was the second president of the united states born on October 30, 1735 in Massachusetts. Under John Adams Congress was controlled by Federalists and during Adams presidency he established cabinet level Navy department. Thus he is considered as the creator of the navy department. The other significanct accomplishment during John Adams presidency is that he increased the strength of Navy and Army and to develop them better, he increased Taxes.

The French revolution started during George Washington presidency and he faced that situation with a serious turning point. After the Revolutionary war which made him one of the most important personality in the history of America. After the war he happily resigned his job and was leading his life as a farmer. Few important facts about his presidency were, he established the tradition of cabinet advisors and also signed the first copyright law. Finally his farewell speech is still celebrated as one of the most influential speeches in American history. On the other hand John Adams was considered as the author of the oldest written constitution which is still in use and also he was the first president to live in the White House because the first president Washington never lived in DC.

Interestingly both George Washington and John Adams were elected president for the FEDERALIST PARTY. The federalist party was one of the very first two political parties in the United States. The federalist party took permanent form in Washington during the controversy over Jay treaty with Great Britain. Back then President George Washington expressed his fear that two-party system could inflict the National unity. Literally the federalist party in the united states originated during the first administration of George Washington and the opposition party then was Democratic Republican party. The second United States president John Adams was inaugurated in 1797 as first Federalist United States president.
