When uric acid is dissociating as

HA <-----> A- + H+

in solution it behaves as a buffer.

Thus its pH is given by Hendersen equation as

pH = pKa + log [A-] /[HA]

Given ph = 4.91 and pKa = 5.8

thus log [A-] /[HA] = pH - pKa = 4.91-5.8 =- 0.89

and the ratio [A-] /[HA] = 0.1288
