Question
I already posted this question but the answer confused me. So I included my notes to show how I am trying to solve and where I am stuck.
Experiment 11: Discussion Questions: Total urinary creatinine is calculated by multiplying the creatinine concentration by the total volume of urine over 24 hours. It ranges from 1000 to 1800 mg in normal adults. Use the formula below to calculate this value, assuming a urine volume of 1600 mL over 24 hr. Is the value within the normal range? Show your calculations. Use the following equation to calculate your value of creatinine over 24 hours. creatinine concentration (ug/mL) X 0.01 (conversion factor) X urine volume, 24 hr.mg creatinine Is it within the normal range? rean m) anan ConverSin ine roluExplanation / Answer
See here below for your doubt.
First conversion factor doesn't have any units.
It convert one unit into another. Here 0.01 convert mu g/ml to mg/ml.
Next to solve it.
1 mu g/ml * 0.01* 1600 ml = 1600 mg creatinine
So that means it is within the normal range.
