Explanation / Answer

The blue coloured lines are viral genome i.e, RNA.

**Once the viral infects, the host cell mechanism are hampered. the viral RNA makes use of the proteins and components of the host cell to replicate. Therefore the viral RNA is replicated. The newly synthesized RNA now separate from the parent RNA (Blue lines), the same replication process continues and multiple viral RNA genome, and viral proteins are ready for packing of the new virus.

One purpose of the new genome (RNA) is for packaging.

second purpose is for the transcription process in order to synthesize viral proteins for new virus packaging.
