Using the data given in the scaranio and the amached stration 4 Using t curve, complete and show any on the back of te the data and results for the scenario, identity the unknown identity the unknown acid torn the utio gven on the back of this sheet 5. On a separate sheet of paper, type (double-spaced, 11 12 point font) a conclusion paragraph entiy your compound. This paragraph shoud ropeat important resutsidata for your unknown and disouss how you excluded other possible compounds t should not ieclude caculations mat identifies your unknown acid and dlea uríknown acid and ciaarty explains ly explains how you used your and it shouid net include latb procedures. h and it should not include lab procedures. Remember that "elupported conclusionshoua include the following . An introductory sentonce that explains what you were trying to accompish and how you achieved t One or two sentences that describe how one data point for your urknown was usad to nariow down the list of possible acids. These sentences should give the expermetai value f unknown as well as the names and accepted values for the possible acids Uhat have value for the the-short list" of compounds so, but it is not mandatory in most cases One or two senten to consider. You may report % amerences t you choose to do or two sentences that describe how you used each subsequent experimental value for your unknown to identify it. You should repont the value and describe how it compares to the accepted values for the possible acids from your "short Vist. Make sure you give those accepted values You may report % differences you choose to do so, ba mandatory in most cases .You should always use and discuss all relevant experimental data to which you have access in . Aconclusion sentence that cleary identifies your unknown 'M7ot Hintrpe 6 I should be able to read this paragraph without looking at any other part of the assignment and bre idenuly your conclusion. convinced that your conclusion is correc following titration curve was generated using data from the titration. the unknown acid from the table of possible unknown acids. (Note: This same as the one you used in experiment 10.) Scenario: A student titrated a 0.288 g sample of an unknown acid using 0.100 M NaOH. Explanation / Answer

According to the graph, the equivalence point is reached in 60 mL of added base. At the equivalence point the moles of acid and base are the same so:

moles Base = 0.060 * 0.1 = 0.006 moles = moles acid

now that we know the moles of acid, we can know the molecular weight:

MW = m/moles
MW = 0.288 / 0.006 = 48 g/mol

However, this do not correspond to any acid on the list, are you sure you put the whole list?. This is the right procedure, tell me if you have another list.
