16) Which one of the following is NOT an example of inductive effects on chemical structure or reactivity?
A) Brønsted acid strength: HCl > HF
B) Carbocation stability: (CH3)3C > CH3
C) Free radical stability: (CH3)2CH• > CH3CH2•
D) Heat of Hydrogenation for alkenes: 1-Butene > trans-2-Butene

D) Heat of Hydrogenation for alkenes: 1-Butene > trans-2-Butene
Explanation / Answer
Inductive effect : The movement of electron density through sigma bond as a result of electronegativity difference is know as inductive effect.
Except last example we have all single bonds and there we can get +I or -I effect.
But when we look at last example we see that heat of hydrogenation.
This depends on the more substituted alkenes. Trans 2 butene is more substituted than 1 -butene so trans-2-butene got loess heat of hydrogenation due to more stability of it.
And so this is different than others.
Answer : D ) Heat of hydrogenation for alkenes : 1 -butene > trans -2-butene
