(Check all true statements. You must get this question completely correct to receive credit.) O Only the Bohr model correctly characterizes the emission spectrum of hydrogen The Quantum model has sublevels, the Bohr model does not. The Bohr model uses waves to model the electron, the Quantum model does not. Both models have quantized energy levels.

Explanation / Answer

1) The energy equation derived from Columb's law in Bohr's model is :-

E = -13.6(Z2/n2) eV ; where Z = atomic number of the ion & n = orbit in which the electron is residing

Z value for Li = 3 & for Be = 4

If 'n' value is same for both Li2+ & Be3+ , then clearly, Be3+ will be at lower energy

2)energy of Li2+/energy of Be3+ = 32/42 = 9/16 = 0.56

i.e energy of Li2+ = 0.56 times the energy of Be3+ (numerically)

3) The correct statements are:-

a) Bohr model has quantized energy levels

b) The quantum model has sublevels, the Bohr model doesnot.
