Her lowest body weight was 130 lb at age 30, maintained for 2 years. Maria mentioned that she tried numer- ous diets while a teenager, when she weighed 170 lb for 3 years. 1. The blood pressure of Maria is high and the condition is called hypertension.
2. Paleo diet is the healthiest way one eat because it focuses on the nutritional approach to eating and helps you in staying lean, strong and energetic. Maria have to follow a strict plan which should include vegetables, animal protein, no dairy products, would have to avoid most of the starch that s bread, potato, rice etc all should be avoided, no processed food. She should include palm oil, avocado oil, sesame oil and should avoid corn, peanut, soybean, rice bran oil and wheat germ oil. A number of lentils and fruits should also be limited and the portion size should be decreased if you want to lose a vast amount of weight.
3. the weight loss and subsequent weight gain effect the metabolism of the individual. Since Maria is overweight and obese and has a history of weight loss and weight gain, she has an altered metabolism which gets faster when the weight is loosed and it slows down as the weight is increased. When the calorie intake is greater than the requirement the metabolism gets affected and results in weight gain. To maximize the metabolism she should have an active life and exercise regularly.
