Molar mass of FeCl3 = 162.2 g/mol; K2C2O4 = 166.2 g/mol and K3[Fe(C2O4)3] = 437.1 g/mol
mole of FeCl3 = 3.2/162.2 = 0.0197 mol
mole of K2C2O4 = 12.0/166.2 = 0.0722 mol
mole of K2C2O4, 0.0722 mol is greater than 3 times the mole of FeCl3 (0.0722 > 3*0.0197), suggesting that K2C2O4 is in molar excess. Therefore, the theoretical yield of potassium ferricoxalate is equal to mole of FeCl3 (Note: 1 mole of FeCl3 produces 1 mole of K3[Fe(C2O4)3]).
