6) Muscles involved in causing extension at the right hip are gluteus maximus, adductor magnus and biceps femoris (option b). Gluteus maximus is powerful extensor of hip and also causes abduction at hip joint. Adductor magnus causes adduction and extension of hip while biceps femoris extends knee joint, flexes and laterally rotates knee joint. Synergists for this action are semitendinosus and semimembraneoses. Antagonist mucles are Iliopsoas which causes flexion at hip joint.
