please help me with A, B, and C.

Paledzbic and Mesozoic d Archean and Proterozoic d. Proterozoic and Phanerozoic c. Mesozoic and Cenozoic Answer two of the three following questions with a short paragraph (20% to tal) A. Di scuss the conditions and processes that allow organic-rich sediments to accumulate. Include the types of rocks in which they are mostly likely to be preserved and why B. Discuss the distribution of sand-rich facies and mud-rich facies in a river dominated muddy delta (like the Mississippi River) as it progrades and the reasons for the distribution.. C. How does the presence of shadow zones of seismic waves indicate the structure of the inner earth (use both the S- wave shadow zone and the P-wave shadow zone)? AND how do we determine the most likely composition at the center of the earth? big

Explanation / Answer

A. The dead animals are burried at deeper depths and undergoes decomposition. This decomposed material at higher temperatures gets chemically decomposed and formed as sediment due to compactness of the upper rock layers.Coal, lignite, and oil shale are the organic rich sediments.

B. Sand rich facies are formed at the base of steep slope mountains and falut scarps. This material travels along the river valley and becomes as particles as sand. Mud rich facies are formed at the base of mud rich basin slopes and carried by rivers.

C. The earth is composed of crust, mantle, outer core, and inner core. These layers are identified by the passage of seismic waves. The seismic waves are P waves and S waves. S waves are not travelled through fluid and P waves can travel through fluid and solid. When the seismic waves are passed through core, S waves are refracted from 104 degrees to 140 degrees. This clearly said that there is a fluid outer core.
