Question

quipc 5. (Same as question 1, but for the following circuit.) Circuit 2 lab Elect a) 1 b) f c) f d) f he r 6. Using the equations found in the previous problem, solve for the magnitudes of currents 1470 leso, and Ik. You should also record these theoretical values in the appropriate space in the Data and Analysis portion of your lab report. Attach a separate piece of paper if you need more wn fie 7. Suppose that the 68092 resistor in problem 5 was replaced with a resistor of infinite resistance. Would I4ro increase, decrease, or stay the same? A. increase B. decrease C. stay the same 8. How would I4ro and Ik compare? A. 1470 would be greater than Ik B. 1470 would be less than Ik C. they would be equal. 92 2018

Explanation / Answer

680 ohm and 1000 ohm are in parallel

R = 680*1000 / (680 + 1000) = 404.76 ohm

404.76 ohm and 470 ohm are in series

R(equi) = 404.76+470 = 874.76 ohm

current through the circuit ( 470 ohm) = V/R(equi) = 12 / 874.76 = 0.0137 A

Current through 680 ohm = 0.0137*1000/ (1000 + 680) = 0.0081 A

Current through 1000 ohm = 0.0137*680 / (1000+680) = 0.0055 A
