Question
Four electric currents, equal in magnitude are arranged at the corners of a square as shown in the figure wo currents go into the page, and two are pointing out of the page. Point a is at the center of the square, and points b and c are in the middle of two of the sides. What is the direction of the magnetic field at point a? To the right. Up (to the top of the page). Down (to the bottom of the page) O The magnetic field is zero at this point To the left. Submit Answer Incorrect. Tries 1/2 Previous TriesExplanation / Answer
the net magnetic field at a is towards right.
according to the amperes right hand rule we have to hold the wire with right hand and thumb towards the current direction then the curling of fingers at that point gives magnetic field.
In this case all the currents produces magnetic field towards right only at 'a' point
hence the net magnetic field is towards right.
