Question
The pH of a saturated solution (at 25 oC) of benzoic acid is2.86. Given Ka of benzoic acid = 6.52 x 10-5, calculate thesolubility of benzoic acid (grams of benzoic acid per 100 mL ofwater) at 25 C.I understand that the Ka is used somehow but please explainhow exactly to plug in the concentrations to find the answer. BTW...I am told the answer is 3.5g/100ml...however I need thestep to reach that answer becuase when i plug into the Hasselbalchequation I cant reach that answer.
Also, I dont know if this will aid in receiving a quickanswer, but I can rate you highly even just fortrying....Thanks!
