Please help me I have been trying to figure these question out for 2 days now and i have no idea. This is my first summer chem college class online and im clueless. Dont care if you give me the exact answer just please tell me how to do it!!! I would very much appreciate it!!! T.T


1. Calculate and record the following for the experiment performed with 20g KClO?:

(a) mass of the crucible with manganese(IV) dioxide (in grams): 54.200g

(b) mass of the crucible after potassium chlorate has been added (in grams): 74.200g

(c) mass of the crucible after heating (in grams):66.367g

(d) mass of potassium chloride (in grams):

(e) mass of oxygen in sample of potassium chlorate (in grams):

(f) mass percent of oxygen in potassium chlorate:

Explanation / Answer

d) 66.367 - 54.2 = 12.167 g of KCl
e) 20g total KClO3 - 12.167 g ofKCl = 7.833 g of Oxygen

f) 7.833 g O/20g total = 0.39165 = 39.165%
