(A) Engineer Ali obligations
1. On complaint, he must have to visit the company with his team and investigate the complaint. On finding the owner guilty, he should take the legal action as per the norms and the severity of loss incurred to the environment.
2. Issue of legal notice to shut down/seal the company till the court orders.
3. Imposing of fine/ cancellation of licence of the company owner.
Ethical dilemma
Ali will face an ethical dilemma of choosing between the two options:
(i) justice to his job/duty
(ii) preventing his father proven guilty.
The ethics says that he should take a strict action against the guilty for the sake of providing justice to his job and the environment but on the other hand, his heart will not allow him to prove his father guilty and punish him.
Ethical issues:
Choosing the option that is right and legal for which he is supposed to take the required action.
To protect his father (who has done a lot for him since childhood) from being struck in problem by being proven guilty.
(B) Ethical dilemma
Opening an industry at that place and operating it will lead to earning high profits for him but at the cost of unsafe environment and health conditions for small children and people residing nearby.
Ethics will say to not to be selfish for the cause that is harmful for others but in personal view point, he will be thinking of the profits and growth of the company.
