2.) E .Coli and NaCl problem

So basically water flows from the direction of low concentration of solute(i.e high concentration of water ) to the region of high concentration of solute(i.e low concentration of water)

Hence when E.Coli is suspended in a solution of 20% NaCl water flows from E.Coli to the Nacl solution.It results in the shrinkage of E.Coli.

Moreover when E.Coli is suspended in the solution of distilled water , water flows into the E.Coli from distilled water and hence the E.Coli swells up .
