2. In what ways does geology affect our everyday lives at each of the following: a. Individual: b. Local: c. State: d. National: e. Global: 3. Why is Earth considered a dynamic planet? How does the solar nebula theory account for the formation of our Solar System, its features, and evolutionary history? 4. WHICH IS THE CORRECT ORDER OF GEOLOGIC ERAS FROM THE OLDEST TO YOUNGEST (WITH RESPECT TO HUMANS)? a. Mesozoic, Paleozoic, Archean, Cenozoic, Precambrian b. Cenozoic, Hadean, Archean, Ordovician, Jurassic c. Hadean, Archean, Proterozoic, Phanerozoic d. Precambrian, Paleozoic, Mesozoic, Cenozoic e. Mesozoic, Paleozoic, Tertiary, Devonian, Hadean 5.Explanation / Answer
Answer. (1) Individual - The water which we have been drinking all our life have been present due to the geological formation of the earth and it's position in the solar system.
local - Metals, minerals which are present in the earth crust are used to produce all the valuable items we need.
State - The electricity we are using to charge our phones or laptops, is created by burning fossil fules which have been created millions of years ago.
National - geology plays an important role in a nation's energy, water, climatic changes.
global - global food supply is largely depend on the geology as, which soil is fertile where crops can be grown in abundance.
(2) Earth is a dynamic planet because -
(a) Due to the presence of core, we have magnetic feild on earth.
(b) Presence of convection curretns in the earth mantel powered which run by the heat, produced by the decaying of radioactive material.
(c) having a large natural satellite that helps in tidal effect.
(d) more over we have life present on earth.
(3) According to this theory, some 4.5 billion years ago, there's a large cloud of dust and gas. Due to a passing satr or may be huge supernova exploision, those gases and dust particles started to get together to form a dense matter of dust and gas. Desner regions started to pull alot of matter together, which in result, started to rotate due to conservation of momentum and heat it up due to increase pressure. ost of the matter collected in the centre and formed a ball, other matter flattened out and took a shape of a disk.
(4) Correct order is - Precambrian, Paleozoic, mesozoic, cenozoic
