Explanation / Answer

Explaination :        For obtaining aluminium from alumina by electrolytic method, first alumina has to be made in a solution or fused (liquid state). However, the melting point of alumina is very high(~1600o C), and thus is very high to obtain. Therefore, it is dissolved in cryolite solution, which reducesthe boiling point to close to 900o C, thus optimizingthe preparation of aluminium, at lower input costs.
