Question
I had to identify 3 elements. For those element which are isoptopes, I had to write the molecular symbol using the following form, it state don't forget the charge for ions. In identifying an element with 18 electron, 20 protons and 35 neutrons. I had Ca with 55 in upper left and 20 on bottom. I wasn't sure if that would be it or CA with a plus 2 in upper right. Am I right, or wrong, or atleast on the right track. There were 3 parts to this question the other asked if an element had 6 electrons, 6 protons, and 6 neutrons, I answered It was C with a 12 upper left and six down the bootm. The third one had 36 electrons, 35 protons and 46 neutrons I had Br with 81 uppper left and 35 down bottom but I think that the answer may be Br with a -1 in upper right.Explanation / Answer
We Know that : From the given data we can identify the elements as: 2055Ca+2 , 6 12C , 3581Br- Number of protons= Atomic number Atomic mass = Number of protons + Number of Neutrons For Neutralelements : Number of protons = Number of electrons Number of protons= Atomic number Atomic mass = Number of protons + Number of Neutrons For Neutralelements : Number of protons = Number of electronsRelated Questions
