ANSWER(respond to this):

I think it's a positive philosophy that Unix has.

In a computer, I think the best thing is simplicity, practicality, being able to enter an easy command to do what you want.

For example, lets take a couple of commands that the shell script can do for us. CD and LS.

These two are very simple yet very powerful for the user to navigate through directories and show a list of them. Also with the man command, it also makes it super easier to understand how the unix system works.

I don't see the negative philosophies that has for Unix as a simple tool for users to get into the information of the computer system.

Question:

"The Unix Philosophy" is that rather than have a custom program for each little thing you want to do, Unix has a collection of useful tools each of which does a specific job (and does it well). To get a job done, one combines the pieces either on the command line or in a shell script. What might be a positive, or negative, with this philosophy?

Explanation / Answer

I agree with your opinion. Unix does have a positive philosophy and makes things easier by giving command line and scripts to use tools. Although it is not that user friendly compared to windows where everything is based on GUI and you can drag and drop items and click on objects but still it is quite easy to use.

The examples provided are perfect as they are simple commands but can be used to do more stuff. For example ls command can be used to create list of all the files in the directory and so on.
