b. The rate of the reaction is determined by the initial part of the reaction where it is linear i.e. the slope of the line. Is the rate of oxidation of guaiacol the same for all of the peroxidase enzymes? If not, what do you think the reason for this could be – there may be several?

Explanation / Answer

1. Spectroscopy is based on the absorbance of the sample solution which depends on colour intensity. As the reaction proceeds, colour will be developed that can be read at certain absorbance. From the graph, we can say that the absorbance is increasing with time, means the reaction is progressing.
