-What new lab skills were introduced in the lab? Why as a STEM major are these skills useful?

I learned how to carefully handle highly concentrated acids like HCl while performing an experiment. As a STEM major this skill are highly useful because in any STEM related careers one has to deal with very risky substances and one should be prepared to do that.  
-What lab skills are you becoming proficient in and how have you grown in these skills

I am becoming proficient in measuring with meter scale. I’ve learned through this experiment is that how to measure the distance even in a unbalanced situation. Specifically, when we had to measure the white lines.  
-What new facts did you discover about the nature of matter and/or what surprised you in the experiment?

Explanation / Answer

first of all we can see the state of mater whether it is a solid ,liqid or vapour, and by observing we can find out somne of the physcial properties of the given substance( by observing color,odour,solubility,effect of temperature...)we measure the viscocity, pH,...By doing more experiments we can find out chemical properties of matter...and we will get some idea about the new facts of the given matter.
