Question
Magnetic measurement on the ferrite CoFe2O4(a spinel) indicate approximately 3 spins per formula unit. The cobalt is divalent and the iron is trivalent. In spinels, the teteahedral sites align anti-parallel to the octahederal sites. Is this a normal or an inverse spinel? Assume all metal ions are high spin. This question is little-bit diplometric.
Though according to the arrangement it should be normal spinel. From the literature survey and research on different metal oxides structure ans spectroscopic measument concludes the partially inverse spinel.
We could say it is inverse spinel (more appropiate)
