Question
Answer all parts
DNA is transcribed to messenger RNA (mRNA), and the mRNA is translated to proteins by the ribosome. Three nucleotides in a row make a codon, which specifies a particular amino acid. A protein is encoded by two or more codons. The codon specifying methionine, AUG, is called the start codon because the first amino acid of any protein is always methionine. The last amino acid in a protein will be one of these three codons, called stop codons: UGA, UAG, or UAA. The table of codons shown here Figure 1 displays the start codon (methionine in blue and the three stop codons in red. All other codons (shown in black) appear in the middle of the amino acid sequences that make up proteins. The table also indicates which amino acid is specified by each codon First Third Second Letter Letter UAC Tyr UGU Cys UCU Phe UCC Ser UCA UAA STOP UGA STOP A UCG UAG STOP UGG Trp G CUU CCU CAU His CGU CUC Leu CCA Pro CAA Gin CGA Arg C CUA CGC CUG CCG CGG AUU Asn AGU Ser AUC Ile ACC Thr AAA A AUA.
