a) In the experiment, the temperature not to go above 350C when sodium dichromate is added to the alcohol, because reaction should take place with the evolution of heat. Add 1ml sodium dichromate solution to the alcohol with vigorous swirling. Add the rest of the dichromate solution with continuous swirling at a rate that keeps the temperature between 25- 35 0C.
