Dehydration of cyclohexanol to cyclohexene

a) moles of cyclohexanol = 10.7 ml x 0.96 g/ml/100.16 g/mol

                                         = 0.1025 mol

Theoretical yield = 0.1025 mol x 82.14 g/mol = 8.424 g

b) Percent yield = (6.7 ml x 0.81 g/ml) x 100/8.424 g

                          = 64.42%

c) To get 30 g cyclohexanol

ml of cyclohexanol to be added = 30 g/0.96 g/ml

                                                   = 31.25 ml

d) To make 8 g of cyclohexene

with 80% yield

If 8 g is 80% yield so 100% is 10 g

ml of cyclohexanol needed = ((10 g/82.14 g/mol) x 100.16 g/mol)/0.96 g/ml

                                            = 12.70 ml
