Question

Find a specific (and real) job or internship listing that you would be interested in pursuing. Make sure it requires a letter of recommendation. Your task is to request a letter of recommendation from the instructor of this course. Assume your request is being made one year from now, and that the professor may not remember who you are. You must write that request in the form of an email. Answer the questions below to help you plan your request. Then write your request and email it to me (lgrobert@bhcc.mass.edu): Why would your instructor want to write a letter of recommendation for you? What would increase your instructor's willingness and delight in writing a letter for you? What tone will you try to project in your email? What information about you would your instructor need to write an effective letter of recommendation? How can you make it easier for your instructor to write a letter of recommendation? How can you show courtesy to your instructor since he is using his own time to do a favor for you? How will you order your message? What will be the subject line?
