1.ABC Company has hired you as the Human Resource Manager. Though the company has experienced sales growth in each of the last four years, a hiring freeze has been in place. That freeze has been lifted and it is clear that some departments are understaffed.
Chapter 10 in the eText describes the role and functions of human resource management. It is up to you to determine how to staff the business. In one paragraph, describe the plan and activities you will use to determine the personnel needs of ABC Company.
2.Chapter 8 in the eText addresses motivational theories, providing strategies and techniques for improving motivation.
Employee motivation and job satisfaction levels are suffering. Write a three to four sentence paragraph describing a theory and which strategies and techniques you would implement for the individuals described in the following scenarios:
-A manager, approaching retirement, is very set in his ways. A very talented and knowledgeable individual, this person tends to be tough on his employees; this results in a department with low morale.
-A 5-year employee has performed at a high level. Her manager has expressed concern that she may be getting bored and losing interest in her job.
-A sales team is beginning to show a lack of intensity and this is reflected in their performance. While there hasn’t been a dramatic drop in sales, the rate of growth has significantly slowed and customer complaints are increasing.

1. i will collect the total amount of work of each department, and based on industry standards how many workers should required to accomplish the work. if really any department is lacking of workers i will design job analysis and recruit new people to the vacancies. because potential employee is must to an organization to reach its targets.
2. i will arrange a session to all employees, and plan the programme with the person who is retiring. i request him to share his views and assure the employees that everything will be smooth even if he is not there. and i will make the employees to know system is more powerful than people, the employee is not leaving us from our work, he designed the structre and all we are following what he was set for us. and finally i make that the retiree employee is available to all, whenever they had a serious problem or issue, definitely he comes and help you.
here i will had an interaction session with one to one, and collect the all individual perceptions and problems. next offer a kind of councellin program about this and made them stronger and more dedicated.
