according to recent studies it is observed the income inequality and wealth distribution not in a proper way in US. the rich becomes more rich. the rich don’t just have more wealth than everyone else. the bulk of their wealth comes from different and more lucrative asset sources. America’s top 1 percent, for instance, holds nearly half the national wealth invested in stocks and mutual funds. most of the wealth of Americans in the bottom 90 percent comes from their principal residences, the asset category that took the biggest hit during the Great Recession. these Americans also hold almost three-quarters of America’s debt.
when inequality is there and higher, many of the people suffer without having funds for their essential needs, and they starts revolution about this. because of this poverty levels increase in the nation, conflicts between people will be increase, the leagal system also collapse, many political parties and governments will not face this kind of economic situation. it leads to political and economic crisis also in the nation.
economic inequality varies between societies, historical periods, economic structures and systems. the term can refer to cross-sectional distribution of income or wealth at any particular period, or to changes of income and wealth over longer periods of time. there are various numerical indices for measuring economic inequality. a widely used index is the Gini coefficient, but there are also many other methods.
