Explanation / Answer

Explain, in your own words, why a literature review is not a review of one study after the other, but a synthesis of sets of related studies.

A literature review conclude, summarizes and evaluates a body content of writings about a specific topic given. Such reviews are not limited to student, even scholarly researchers also carry out reviews to their literature work throughout their research careers.

In contrast to some other ways of surveying a body of literature, such as an annotated bibliography, the literature review is a work of synthesis. For this reason, it is important not to simply write a summary list of what each individual work says, but instead to focus on the body of work viewed as a whole.

In general, a literature review has two key elements.
First, it should concisely summarize the findings or claims that have emerged from prior research efforts on a subject.
Second, a literature review should reach a conclusion about how accurate and complete that knowledge is; it should present your considered judgments about what’s right, what’s wrong, what’s inconclusive, and what’s missing in the existing literature.

Conducting a literature review can have several benefits:
• If you are not familiar about the research overview, It can give you a general overview of a body of research.
• It saves time as it can reveal what has already been done well, therefore help in concentrate in other important topics.
• It can give new inputs and ideas one can generate which can be used in your own research.
• It can help you determine root cause of problem meaning where there are problems or flaws in existing research.
• It can enable you to place your research in a larger context, so that you can show what new conclusions might result from your research.

Why is it important that you include a summary at the end of your literature and why is it important that the summary include the facts from the chapter that most closely relate to your research questions? Will you use the summary again at a later time and if so for what purpose?

In general summary is the first section people read and it should be last section which is to be written. A summary should assist a reader make its decision to read the report or not. Length of the summary depends on the extent of the work reported - usually a paragraph or two and always less than a page. Summary should include and explain the following subjects:

Yes I will use summary again, reason being it is important to ensure that my audience get to know about the zest of the subject. Also if the reader is unfamiliar with the material/subject the summary can help them to understand the topic in brief.
