Question

Make a positive response to: Question 2: How do learning objectives help trainees, training designers, trainers, and training evaluators? Per book, there are four types of training objectives – organizational, transfer of training, learning, and training reaction objectives. Learning objectives specifically the described desired behavior, criteria that would show a sufficient level of learning and the standards. Learning objectives are critical for all parties in order to understand the flow of the training, as well as reducing anxiety, focusing attention and increasing the likelihood of success. Training designers, trainers and evaluators are able to better understand the overall purpose of the training design. (Blanchard & Thacker) Question 4: The Gagné-Briggs theory of instructional design does not explicitly include “motivation”. In view of other theories, such as social learning theory, is Gagné's omission of motivation significant? Why might have Gagné not included "motivation" in what is commonly summarized as the nine step instructional process? I think that the omission is significant. Motivation can be a theory of itself and can be complex. I think that the nine steps that represent the conditions of learning are after motivation occurs. According to a number of other theories, motivation must first occur prior to learning actually occurring. I can only assume that Gagne-Briggs already assumed motivation occurred prior to his theory.
