We all start at the bottom looking to fulfill our basic needs. Then we grow and have “experiences” this is what shapes us into who we become. We are constantly changing and adapting because of our experiences in order to reach the goal of self-actualization. Burger says so himself “the human being is never seen as a finished product but as always changing” (Burger 176). It’s the way respond to these experiences that make us grow or lose ground in our way to the top.

Self-Esteem : This stage refers to the needs to respect others and be respected by others.A need for status , prestige , fame and attention.The higher the self-respect, the more the self-cofidence and independence factor is achieved.

Self- Actualization : This refers to the recognition . What a man can be and what he must do to achieve the goals.This is the intrinsic element of the growth factor.Acceptance of facts, spontaneous solutions to problems to achieve inner peace.
