Think about a time in your life when you were a leader or were “in charge” and had authority over a situation. This could be anything from a school committee, camp counselor, team captain and so on. 1.List one example of a situation that you handled well as a leader and one example of a situation you did not handle well. 2.What positive and negative behaviors do you think had the biggest effects on the situations? 3.What would you do differently in any of the situations you described if you could do it over again? 4.What strength do you feel you have as a leader? Explanation / Answer

I was the project manager for transmission line project. While defining the project timelines, resources requirement and various constraints and milestones, I took the feedback of various stakeholders to reduce their barrier to accept the project plan and implement it at their best potential being in coordination with each other. Here I feel that I managed the situation well. Another example of implementation is that I asked my commissioning team to commission the project without checking the quality of work of other team. Because of this, a major fault occurred and it was a huge cost to the company. This situation I was not able to handle well. Positive behavior – Good listening skills, Emotional intelligence, Team work , time management , ability to work under pressure . Negative behavior – Non Transparency, Not following the chain of command, Aloofness If I could do the commissioning again of the project described above, I will first ask quality check team to submit quality report of each component, inspect the site personally with commissioning team and then commission the project. I have Good listening skills, Emotional intelligence, Team work , time management, good communication and presentation skills, quality to motivate the team etc.
