In my view, most of the prejudiced attitudes that individuals form towards others stems from their past experiences and learning. It is often the case that those who have had limited group interactions with individuals from a different community or have frequently observed another group being treated in a specific fashion by others tend to adopt prejudiced views about the group. When the existing social norms promote prejudiced attitudes towards certain groups of individuals, it is bound to influence many individual members. In order to tackle this, it is important social values and practices reflect an equal society where group differences are celebrated. There should also be opportunities for interaction to take place between different group members.
