It is a process in which a new innovation or any new product launch is divided into stages. The stages include:

1). Scope

2). Business case

3). Development

4). Testing and verification

5). Launch

In some of the processes, there is a discovery phase above the first phase and review of the project at the end of the fifth phase.

In all these phases certain structure is followed like:
