Define the terms:
Job Analysis: Process to identify and determine in detail the particular job duties and requirements and the relative importance of these duties for a given job.
Job Description: A broad written statement of a specific job, based on the findings of the job analysis
Job Specification: Document that describes a list of job`s human requirements: education, skills, knowledge, personal qualities, attributes etc. This is also product of job analysis.
Competencies: Particular qualities that a company`s recruiters have decided are desirable for employee to possess based on a job analysis.
Explain the Competency-Based Job Analysis approach and list the technical and behavioral competencies
Competency-Based Job Analysis is describing a job in terms of the measurable and observable behavioral competencies an employee must exhibit to do a job well
Technical competencies are those specific job-related competencies
Behavioral competencies examples: leadership, strategic thinking and teaching.
