There are various aspects of HR. we shall discuss the Following two aspects of HR-
Recruitment and Selection:
Recruitment and Selection is one of the most importand aspect of HR and its not possible for any organisation working without employees. After determining the tasks to be performed within the organization, the jobs need to be categorized on the basis of the functional or geographic needs. The aim of the recruitment process is to make available job applicants for a specified job/s. Common ways of recruitment include newspaper advertisements, visits to colleges, existing employees, references, recruitment agencies and even websites.
Then short listed candidates are called for personal interview which enables the interviewer gauge the attitude of the person and his suitability for the desired job. Depending on the position applied for, the selection procedure may comprise of one or more interviews. When the candidate passes the interviews stage, reference checks may be done and the final decision is taken.
This is how recruitment and selection is performed by HR
Training:
Training is another very important aspect of human resource management. Most of the times its a part of HR only but sometimes there may be a different team set up for this. The most preferred example is retail. Typically, in retail training needs arise at the following points:
1) Induction new persons / staff into the organization
2) Training of sales staff, as they are the persons who are in direct contact with the customers.
3) Training of staff / personnel for skill enhancements.
When new persons join any organization, an induction program is conducted. The purpose of such an induction program is to familiarize the new entrants about the organization’s policies and methods of doing business.
In retail special importance is given to the training of sales staff as they are commonly termed as the face of the organization.

Recruitment- Recruiters play a key role in developing the employer's workforce. They advertise job postings, source candidates, screen applicants, conduct preliminary interviews and coordinate hiring efforts with managers responsible for making the final selection of candidates. The success of recruiters and employment specialists generally is measured by the number of positions they fill and the time it takes to fill those positions. Also its very important that recruitment to be as per the requirement of concern department and the company so job description and titles are prepared very carefully
Hiring-Hiring means after recruitment process selection of candidate and finally hire him for the orgnaisation. This includes from all the candidate avaialbel to take their personal interviews, to know their expectations and to decide that who is the most suitable candidate for the role which is most perfect in all aspects right from job experience to the salary to be paid to that employee
Employee benefit- Employee benefits includes right from payroll to all the other benefits like insurance for employee and other fringe benefits . On the compensation side, the HR functions include setting compensation structures and evaluating competitive pay practices. A comp and benefits specialist also may negotiate group health coverage rates with insurers and coordinate activities with the retirement savings fund administrator. Payroll can be a component of the compensation and benefits section of HR;
Training-Training means giving new employees extensive orientation training to help them transition into a new organizational culture. HR also provide leadership training and professional development. Leadership training may be required of newly hired and promoted supervisors and managers on topics such as performance management and how to handle employee relations matters at the department level.
Now we discuss whether An organization can operate effectively without HR or not. Well HR is all about personnel management so wherever the no. Of employees are high the HR department is must as orgnissation require the expertise of the HR professionals to take care of that otherwise the organisation will end up hiring wrong candidate, messing up with their traing and employee benefits and all and ultimately will not be able to survive. In small business obviously keeping a separate HR department is not viable so HR is not required there as no. Of employees are very less and the owner itself has to take care of the many departments. Also there may be organisations such as manufacturing or plant where companies are performing only one process for the other companies i.e. not involved in complete processes such as sales and procurement etc. There the type of employees or labor required are very specific so in that case that orginasation may not require HR department even the no. Of employees are very high.
But overall we can say the role of HR department is very crucial and in most of the organisation its mandatory only
