Explanation / Answer

I do not agree with Lyle E. Schaller. A situation deeloping out of conflict must be dealt with immediately otherwise it may cause loss of discipline, lower moral and reduced output with increse of defecitive output.

I was working as head of a construction equipment manufacturing USA multinational company in India. Tere were diffects reported on equipment during their commissioning at user sites and our service engineers had to rush to user sites with spare parts Unlike USA most of the times our engineers had to trael by train and it is not possible to board a train in India without a prior reservation. Our USA returned bosses did not understand the situation and this created a conflict. The construed this as unwillingness of engineers to travel at short notice.

I called a meeting of seniors and explained the unique Indian scenario and followin solutions were sugested and implemented

1. Make all service engineers elligible for air travel

2. Make adance rail bookins for some of the ery frequently traelled rail destinations

3. Arrange a road transporter to accept our spare parts consinment irrespectie of its size and weight for immediate despatch to destination on door deliery basis.
