Motivation- This is an important trait that is essential for development. It is useful characteristic to make projects possible and motivate every employee around.
Honesty- This is an essential trait that is essential to raise the bar high. A leader is responsible for the entire team; hence honesty is important to take you ahead and inculcate a key value among the team members to follow. It is essential to promote healthy lifestyle and encourage the team to follow the standards.
Delegate
It is essential to create an organized business and trust the team with the vision. The sign of strength trusts the team with the idea. A successful leader identifies the strengths of the team and capitalizes on them. A fine balance is needed to be created for establishing productivity of the company or business.
Communication
This is an important trait in a leader to accomplish goals. It is essential for members to be able to relate to the vision of the team to attain the same goal. Communication is vital to cause the members to trust and work effectively.
Confidence
Confidence in a Leader is helpful to have trust on the brand and business; however large or small. It is essential to maintain the morale of the team and keep up the confidence level of the team members when there are setbacks.
Commitment, creativity and intuition are other factors that are essential for a successful leader.
A manager is responsible to carry out functions like planning, organizing, leading and controlling. Theoretically all managers could be leaders as they carry the functions of a leader like communication, motivation, inspiration and encouraging the employees for productivity. However all managers are not leaders because all managers cannot perform the functions of a leader. Also employees tend to follow the directions of a leader that they believe in. The primary goal of the managers is to fulfill the organizational goals.
Leader does not have any formal or tangible power over the followers. The power is given on a temporary basis and the task is to motivate and inspire the followers. The fulfillment of the goals is through effective leadership; achieved through trust, inspiration and motivation. It is a visionary, change oriented, creative and adaptive process.
The worst traits of horrible leaders includes the following
Arrogance: It discourages the team members to work; creating a work culture that is ‘me against them.
Opaque: It is clearly a worst trait in a leader to be opaque in management which creates distrust among the leaders.
Taciturn: This is a worse quality as the leaders stay away from sharing information about threats with the team. This prevents people from participating in solving problems.
Undisciplined and Detached: It is not beneficial when the leaders are not disciplines. It creates mismanagement. Even a detached attitude is sickening for the people.
