Discussion Question: With some organizations and jobs, pay is primarily wages or salaries, and with others, incentive pay is more important. For each of the following jobs, state whether you think the pay should emphasize base pay (wages and salaries) or incentive pay (bonuses, profit sharing, and so on). Give a reason for each
a. An accountant at a manufacturing company
b. A salesperson for a software company.
c. A chief executive officer.
d. A physician in a health clinic

A : An accountant at a manufacturing company : an accountant at a manufacturing company processes multiple bills.
An account has nothing to do with the customers and sales of the company. even if company likes to pay incentives to accountant for the number of bills he has processed , then there won't be any direct impact on company's revenue at all. So there is no use of paying incentives to accountant in manufacturing company.
B: A salesperson in a software company: Sale person in a software company should be given incentives , which motivate him to sell softwares to the customers.It will have direct impact of the company sales
C: A Cheif executive officer : A CEO of the company takes all the managment decisions for the growth of company. CEO is any employee considered to be in backend operations in company, who is not directly dealing with customers . So his job will not make a significant impact on sales even if he is payed incentives for his job.
D:A physician i an health Clinic: A phsician in a health clinic works in time constraint in clinic. Clinic can have more patients one day and less number of patients other day. It is not at all depends on a physician to increase the number of patients. But yes how effectively the physician has done his job is equally important when dealing with the life of patients. So he has to be regular in clinic. he has to attend all the patients in the given time frame. So he has to be payed on incentive pay to motivate him to do his job effectively.
