CONCEPT:
Output control
ARTICLE SUMMARY:
Though there is only few months left to the 2016 Olympics probably the biggest sporting festival in the world, organizer are struggling to sell more tickets. In past Olympics organizers were also struggling to sell tickets but this year condition have worsen due to domestic economic, social and political crisis. Advance applications for tickets are also five times less as foreigners are cautious due to spread of Zika virus and high crime rates is some of Brazilian cities.
ARTICLE ANALYSIS:
The article put light on issue of low interest of public in a sporting event for which a country’s leadership is preparing for years and spend millions of dollars to mark its arrival on the global level. This is an example of miss match of expectation of government and the voters. The government wants to show off its power and host the world but common man just wants the food on his table.
OPINION:
Instead of control output (sales of ticket) the government should look at the inputs like welfare of citizens firsts. If the government addresses social and economical needs of its citizens, it would turn masses into the stadiums. Because no one would cheering their favourite team if they don’t have happiness within.
I hope this will help. Good Luck.
