There are 3 main reasons to answer why Career development plan is necessary even your company do not have it in place.
1. Your Future should be in safer side - If company does not have a career develpment plan for you, then its not something that they will really bother aout, in case they will find more better candidate they have rights to hire him / her. The development which you make is what driving you towards your future goals.
2. Earning - If you go through some research, you will find people are earning more who are actually well qualifiedd with different programs, qualifications are earning more because they stand unique in case of nowledge as well their career profile.
3. Learning never ends - Even you think that professioanl developemnt is not all about on the job learning, but formally & informally you have to grab many things, like communication skills, writing/speaking skills, functional knowledge etc. But always remember that this is not something you will always master in that subject. because all the topics in this world are still not complete in knowledge. there is always something new to learn. So profesional developement and career development is all about like settoing a goals of particular task. And we know if there is no goal set for your task- there are many directions to move and we dont know what is right directions manya time. So be in bright light always.
